Epilogues
Measuring approximately four feet tall, the pictures in the Epilogues series depict post-Apocalyptic ruins and destruction. The series consists of two very different sets of work: one in which the ruins are embedded in a cosmos of florid swirling color, the other an empty colorless void. The earliest of these paintings specifically depicted the ruins of Hiroshima, addressing the dangers of nuclear proliferation, but eventually the subject expanded to include the aftermath of other potential sources of mass destruction. Increasingly that has come to mean the impending effects of global warming. When displayed together in a gallery or a religious space, the paintings have sometimes been arranged in clusters to create larger composite images.
